As commuter towns in Surrey go, Weybridge has a lot to offer. Around 20 miles southwest of central London, the train journey into London Waterloo takes just 30 minutes and by car, there are multiple options with the M25, M3 and M4 motorways all within easy reach.
Weybridge is an ideal place to live for those who don’t want to stray too far from London yet yearn for more space and ready access to the countryside.
Living in Weybridge
Families are drawn to Weybridge in particular for the excellent schools, both state and independent. St George’s College is a sought after private Catholic school in Weybridge that caters to children from 3 years to 18 years of age.
The bustling high street is filled with useful shops including a Waitrose. For independent shops, Baker Street, which is just off the high street is the place to go. There are also other parades of shops around Weybridge including those found on Queens Road and Oatlands Drive.
With the river on the doorstep, there are several river walking routes that take you as far as Guildford and Godalming. The town has three good sized parks, two even having a paddling pool, The park on Churchfield Road has tennis courts and the Brooklands in Sopwith Drive has a skateboard park and BMX track. Weybridge is well suited to family life with lots to do outdoor, there are also multiple groups and clubs run locally.

Property in Weybridge ranges widely in value and style. Grand mansions can be found within the St George’s Hill private estate and modern waterside homes are located in gated developments such as The Stadbury in Whittets Ait, on an island in the River Wey.
For homes within walking distance to the station buyers can look at the sizeable houses for sale found off of Hanger Hill, ranging from homes built in the part 10 years to period homes and houses built in the years in between; the styles vary wildly.
Edwardian houses can be found on rounds such as Curzon Road, St Albans Avenue and Mount Pleasant, all of which are sought after addresses in Weybridge.
St George’s Hill property
Set within almost 1,000 acres of beautiful Surrey countryside, St George’s Hill is a private estate that has 420 homes within its borders, the estate also has a golf club and tennis club. Property in St George’s Hill is considered to have some of the most exclusive residential addresses outside of London, the estate is deemed to be one of the most exclusive places to live in the world.
The original homes in St George’s Hill were built by master craftsman W. G. Tarrant in 1910 and strict local laws were set in place that each home should have at least 1-acre of land and that the houses are restricted in size to be no more than 20% of their plot. The St George’s Hill Residents Association ensures the high standards are maintained throughout the estate to the benefit of residents.
St George’s Hill is hugely attractive to families who value safety, security, privacy and tranquillity. The main entrance gates have manned security, as well as CCTV, vehicle recognition and the other entrances have card access only, allowing residents peace of mind.
Villages near Weybridge

Nearby Cobham is a very desirable village and sought after place to live. The village is well set for amenities and shops include a delicatessen, bakery and wine merchant along with several boutiques. The schools in Chobham are excellent and include ACS Cobham International School and Notre Dame Prep School. Cobham is around 10 minutes’ drive from Weybridge.
The village of Hersham can be mistakenly overlooked by buyers looking for a convenient place to live that offers an easy commute into London whilst living in a leafy Surrey location. Located not far from Walton-on-Thames and just a 10 minute drive from Weybridge. Hersham is located on the River Mole, it has a wonderful village green and traditional pubs aplenty. Hersham has its own train station which allows you to reach the capital in under half an hour. Whilst Hersham has a good selection of shops, Walton-on-Thames is just a 10 minute walk away for a wider array of shopping facilities and amenities.
We often champion Ripley, it has everything you’d want from a village – a good selection of shops, pubs, a large common and a strong community spirit. The drive from Ripley into Weybridge takes around 15 minutes, traffic dependent. The drive into London from Ripley takes around an hour.
